Monterosso

I took comfort in the knowledge that the last train stopped at 11:30pm.   I soon learned that the trains, especially cargo trains run all night.  It was as harrowing as our stay in Reno before they move the train to a tunnel.  Vic, sedated alcohol, slept through it.  Jen, sedated by benedryl, also slept through it.

We planned to take a ferry to Monterosso, but the sea was too rough.  Back on the train.  Our B&B was very nice, but a distance from old town.  We asked the owner for directions.  She said the map is wrong!  There is a road and path that would take us to old town without going back the way we came.  I convinced Vic and Jen to take it.  I concede that it was uphill, not really a short cut, and perhaps further than if we retraced our steps, but it was an adventure.

We ate and shopped in old town.  We saw the beach and the sights.  We decided Monterosso is our consensus number 2.  Then went back to our room.  We leave for Milan tomorrow.
